Domaine Anita Fleurie Poncie Beaujolais Cru, France -93pts JS, (Ships 6x750ml) $26.95/bottle

CA$162.90

“Dense violet and sour-cherry nose with just a hint of licorice. Very fresh and vital with quite a serious tannins structure for a Beaujolais Cru, this is still very young with tremendous energy. Quite dry finish, but in a very positive way, and one that reminds me of wines from cooler locations in the Northern Rhone. Drink or hold.”

93 points James Suckling

The Winery

Domaine Anita is named after Anita Kuhnel who has been making wine under the Domaine Anita since 2015. Today, Domaine Anita includes some of the most prestigious crus of Beaujolais including Moulin à Vent, Morgon, Chénas, Fleurie, as well as some plots located on great terroirs of the Beaujolais-Villages appellation. Anita’s viticultural practices are specific to each plot, but always within her overarching philosophy of sustainable viticulture, with minimal treatments, green harvesting and strong canopy management

I have been a big fan of Anita Kuhnel's wines for a number of years. The domaine was founded way back in 1943 by Jean-Pierre and Georgette Kuhnel, based in Morgon but expanding to Chénas and Moulin-à-Vent over subsequent years. They farm 12 hectares of vines and adopt a traditional approach to winemaking that includes using the wooden press that Jean-Pierre first used to squash grapes back in 1943. If you have not yet discovered Anita's wines, it is time to do so.- Robert Parker-

Fleurie “Poncié” comes from the Fleurie appellation in the Beaujolais region of France, specifically in the northern part of Beaujolais known for producing the most elegant and floral expressions of Gamay.

The Poncié vineyard is one of Fleurie’s most celebrated climats (single vineyard sites), prized for its granitic soils and southeast-facing slopes at higher elevations. These conditions produce wines that are refined, perfumed, and structured—often with notes of red berries, violets, and a mineral core.

Wines from Fleurie Poncié typically show great balance between delicacy and depth, and can age beautifully over 5–10 years.
