Domaine Haut Ventenac L’Aurore Rosé 2025
L’Aurore means “The Dawn,” a reference to the grapes being harvested before sunrise, when the cooler temperatures help preserve freshness and delicate aromatics.
This is Rémi Bucherie’s take on the pale, elegant style of Provence rosé. Made from equal parts Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, it is direct pressed, cool fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel. The result is bright and lively, but with enough texture and flavour to give the wine real substance, finishing long, crisp and refreshing.
Production is tiny, with just 2,500 bottles made.
33% Merlot | 33% Cabernet Franc | 33% Cabernet Sauvignon
Why we brought it in: We loved the combination of freshness and texture, but also the story. It’s a beautifully made, small production French rosé with a distinctive identity, and something a little different from the usual Provence bottle.
About the Winery
Domaine Haut Ventenac is an independently run Right Bank estate led by Rémi Bucherie. The 13 hectare property reflects a modern vision of Bordeaux, combining serious quality with clarity and strong identity. Bordeaux is often associated with tradition, but rarely with bold branding and modern storytelling. At Domaine Haut Ventenac, we believe Bordeaux can and should offer both.
The vineyards span Francs and Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, two neighbouring appellations east of Saint Émilion. Both share clay limestone soils and slightly higher elevations that preserve freshness and structure while allowing full ripeness of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Francs offers terroir driven value, while Castillon’s limestone plateaus and iron rich clays bring added depth and ageing potential.
