Our vineyard is located in the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation 40 kilometres north of Bordeaux.
With a density of 5,000 vines per hectare, the 50-hectare vineyard is planted on gently slopes facing south-by-southwest. The breakdown is 80% red wine varieties and 10% white wine ones.
The clay-limestone and clay soil is perfect for producing the red wines the appellation's emblematic wines – Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec.
The two white wine varieties, Sauvignon Gris and Sauvignon Blanc, are planted on a sandy plateau in the commune of Mazion, where they ripen well and achieve their full aromatic potential.
We have been restructuring the vineyards for several years, seeking the best possible balance between grape varieties, microclimate, and soil. We decided to plant our Malbec on beautiful clay-limestone slopes and acquired new plots in order to widen our range. We also created a special new cuvée, produced in small quantities: Château Perrin.
We confirmed our commitment to environmentally-friendly winegrowing by adhering to the Terra Vitis charter in 2013. This charter concerns reducing plant protection products and intelligently targeting treatments to use as few as possible, as well as a return to ploughing the soil to enhance microbial life and the assimilation of organic matter.
